Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: The subscription price is $29.95 I assume this is for just one issue, is that correct?

A: Yes, $29.95 is the “per issue” price, unless you decide to prepay your subscription, in which case you get a 15% discount.

Q: How do I order specific issues in the future?  (Say I want to skip the next issue, but want the following issue).

A: Worship Interactive‘s subscription is much like a magazine subscription – we choose the material we cover based on two things: 1) our desire to expose you to a wide variety of styles and teachers so that you can be a well-rounded musician, and 2) our subscriber’s input – although you don’t get to order specific issues, we do what we do based on our subscriber’s input! So please tell us what styles and songs you are interested in learning about.

Q: Can I order back issues?

A: Yes, you can order back issues. Just call our toll-free number (866-576-8633) for special pricing.

Q: What types of styles will I learn? What type of songs are you including (worship, praise, contemporary)?

A: We call this the “Style Series” because it touches many different styles of contemporary worship music. This is why we hook up with skilled worship musicians all around the country to film them leading us in worship and teaching us about their methods and techniques in doing so.

Q: What level player is this subscription geared towards?

A: Because these are lessons with real musicians in real-life situations, the techniques and concepts that they touch on range from beginner through intermediate to advanced techniques – You will find something for everyone in each of these lessons. The cool thing about the teaching being done on a subscription basis is that you get to hear many different players teach about how they accomplish the style of the music they play.

Q: Where and how could I use this CD-ROM?

A: Worship musicians are using this in their homes for their personal training, and worship leaders are using this with their entire church worship team. We have even had team leaders tell us how valuable it is to have all the musicians watch the lessons from each instrument, so that the whole team can “be on the same page.”

Q: What can I do if I buy a Worship Interactive subscription and it turns out that it does not fit my needs?

A: We want you to be blessed by this product, so we always want your input for future issues as to how we can make the instruction the most useful to you. But, if for any reason it is not working for you, you can send it back for a refund.

Q: Is there a guarantee?

A: Yes, the CD’s are guaranteed. And, more importantly, our promise to you is that you will be a satisfied customer, one way or the other.

Q: Can I use this in my DVD player?

A: Yes, if you have a newer DVD player that supports MPEG files. You will not be able to access any of the interactive features, but you can play all of the videos, and probably the audio files too. You should play it in your computer first to become familiar with what video and audio files are on the CD.

Q: I play acoustic guitar mostly, but I can play electric also. Do you have different CDs for electric and acoustic?

A: Our goal is to expand the “vocabulary” of every musician, so we combine the acoustic and electric guitar into one series, focusing on one or the other each issue, so that you will be ready and able to play whichever is needed on your team.

Q: Do you take checks?

A: Yes, we take checks. At the present time, though, that must be mailed to us. (We are presently looking into being able to accept Pay Pal or similar services.) Just call us toll-free to order your subscription (1-866-576-8633).

Q: How much is just one CD? Can I still order a full year subscription, after I have bought the first CD individually?

A: Yes. The CDs are $29.95 (+$4 S&H) per bi-monthly issue. But you can save over 15% by paying for the full year at one time, and we will credit any amount you have paid to a full year’s prepaid price.

Q: Do you have a sample or demo of what the sessions are like?

A: You can download our Demo from the homepage, or we can send you an issue "on trial". If you're not satisfied with the product, simply return it to us for a refund. To do so, sign up for a "Pay-As-You-Go" Subscription, and put something like "trial" in the Comments section of your order, and we will not send you another CD until you tell us to.

Q: Is this useful for churches just beginning to incorporate contemporary worship songs, such as in a blended worship service?

A: Churches moving into blended services will benefit from the Worship Interactive training because your musicians will get ideas for what contemporary music includes in order to accomplish a particular style, allowing you flexibility in your services.

Q: Would a seasoned team benefit from this as well?

A: Everybody from beginner to advanced will profit – a seasoned team will benefit by getting the subscription together. We even have professional musicians who subscribe so that they can pick up “tricks and licks” from their fellow musicians.

Q: I would like to know what songs you use. Could I please have a better idea of the songs and arrangements before I subscribe?

A: We choose the songs we use in several different ways. A lot of what we do is based on our subscriber's input, so we value that a lot. On each issue we try to have a balance of 1) well-known songs in a new style, 2) New songs in that style, 3) updated hymns in that style, 4) Up-and-coming songs (such as those on Worship Leader’s Song Discovery).

As for arrangements, those are done according to the STYLE that we are trying to teach on each issue. That will vary from Acoustic Rock to Gospel to Alternative to Blended, all with the goal of helping your musicians to be well-rounded and ready to flow in any direction that you need them to.

In our training philosophy we do not focus on SONGS, but rather USE the songs to expose your team to different STYLES of worship music – with the goal being that your musicians will be able to TRANSFER what they’ve learned about playing a particular style into ANY SONG that you put before them. That way, you have the best of both worlds: You may find some particular songs on an issue that you want to use in your congregation, but MORE IMPORTANTLY, you should be able to take any song that you WANT to do in your congregation and apply that style to it.

Q: Is there more detailed info about the music theory style selection?

A: As far as Music Theory is concerned, we take a different approach than the classical approach to teaching music theory – we focus on practical music theory AS IT RELATES to playing today’s styles of worship music. On each issue, we focus in on what is happening theory-wise in that style and take apart each song so that we can learn what is happening “behind the scenes.” Because the approach is different and very practically based, we have even had folks who studied theory in college tell us that it has helped them APPLY what they had been taught years ago and never understood.

We realize that many of the things that we do when we play (or CAN”T do, as the case may be) J are a result of our not understanding what is going on “behind the scenes” in terms of the Theory behind the song. We want your team to be able to play better by knowing what they’re being asked to play – for example, “What does this F#^7-5/A# mean?” or “What’s a ‘flat 7’ chord and how do we use it?” or “What’s the Nashville Numbering System?”

Q: How can I make sure I get certain style volumes?

A: Now you bring up a touchy topic with us. J  We’re not truly interested in teaching your team ONE style, or even a few – that’s why we set this thing up as a “subscription” service. We want to encourage and challenge your worship musicians to develop their own unique style(s) (which can only really come from being exposed to many different styles and blending them together eventually). And that can only happen over time.

That being said, we realize that there are going to be certain styles that we focus on that have NO relation to your culture and setting whatsoever. You are certainly free to return those to us and they are not counted towards your subscription. In addition, we need and love the feedback from our subscribers on what they want to learn – that helps us help you better.

We want your musicians to be fully prepared and equipped to go in any direction that you need them to go. (Not to mention to be ready when Disco comes back into style! J Just kidding!)

Q: I tried to download the shockwave update, but it would not download properly from the web page.

A: You must have shockwave installed and running properly to run the demo. If you having trouble, just call us toll-free or send us your mailing address and we will drop a full working Demo in the mail to you ASAP.
